Black and gold is a combination that rarely goes wrong, and the ACME Zeena Bed uses it with restraint. The headboard is upholstered in black velvet and outlined with gold nailhead trim, so the detail reads as a thin line of light rather than heavy hardware. It suits a contemporary bedroom where one well-chosen piece sets the tone.

Tapered gold metal legs lift the frame and echo the trim above, giving the Zeena a lighter stance than most upholstered beds. The frame itself is wood and composite wood under the velvet, and ACME's Zeena collection ships this piece as a single carton Eastern King with four slats and four support legs included; a box spring is required. The ACME Zeena Bed works especially well in a Doral or Kendall home where white walls and natural light can play against the dark fabric. A black velvet bed like this one also makes a good partner for brass lamps and mirrored nightstands.
