In its Charcoal finish, the ACME Nalo Writing Desk reads as a charcoal wood desk with a classic X-base writing table silhouette: a rectangular top, crossed legs and one drawer. It is a fit for anyone who wants a dark, grounded desk for a bedroom, a hallway alcove or a small home office.

The construction is wood and composite wood, and the finish is a deep charcoal tone that sits between gray and black. One drawer with English dovetail joinery at the front and back slides on a wood center glide to two-thirds extension, holding a laptop charger, a mouse and loose paperwork. Because the base is open, the 42-inch desk feels lighter than its dark color suggests, and a chair of almost any style tucks beneath the 18 mm top. Part of ACME's Nalo collection, the ACME Nalo Writing Desk pairs well with brass or black hardware in a Doral townhouse or a Kendall family home. As a dovetail drawer desk it offers more craft than its simple lines let on.
