Two surfaces on four slim legs: that is the ACME Jethro End Table, an espresso end table with an open bottom shelf and straight chrome legs. The shelf is the useful idea here, giving a second level for books or a basket while the top stays clear, and the pared-back shape fits modern apartments and offices equally well.

The top and the shelf are particle board finished in espresso, fixed in place with no apron so the lines stay crisp. Metal tube legs with chrome plating run straight to the floor and arrive with plastic caps that protect tile and hardwood. Storage is limited to that one open compartment under the top. The ACME Jethro End Table ships knocked down in one carton and is part of ACME's Jethro collection. As an end table with shelf beside a leather sofa in a Doral townhouse, it keeps the remote and a reading lamp within reach without a bulky cabinet. A chrome leg side table like this also works as a nightstand in a guest room.
