The ACME Jennavieve Bookcase is a gold aluminum bookcase whose patchwork metal frame turns a simple rectangle of shelves into something closer to sculpture. Its three fixed shelves create four open compartments, and the open back lets the wall color show through. It is aimed at home offices and living rooms that want industrial office storage with a warmer, brighter metal than the usual silver.

Patchwork gold aluminum covers the metal case frame and the shelves, with ply underneath each inch-thick shelf for rigidity. There are no legs, so the unit stands flat on the floor against a wall, and it arrives fully assembled. The clean-lined design handles decorative objects as easily as rows of books and magazines, which is why the open back bookshelf format works well: nothing hides what sits behind it. The ACME Jennavieve Bookcase belongs to ACME's Jennavieve office collection. In a Brickell apartment that uses a corner of the living room as a workspace, it separates the desk zone without blocking light.
