A single ball pedestal table can anchor a corner better than a four-legged piece, and the ACME Alyx Accent Table proves it. Its round top sits on a turned base that narrows at the neck, swells into a sphere and widens again at the foot, a traditional shape suited to modern farmhouse or French country rooms.

The top and the ball pedestal are wooden, and the whole piece wears a distressed antique white finish that is meant to look gently worn rather than factory fresh. There is no drawer or shelf, so the table reads as a sculptural object as much as a surface. At 26" across and 26" tall it is a little larger than a typical end table, which gives it presence beside a deep sofa or between two armchairs. The ACME Alyx Accent Table belongs to ACME's Alyx collection. Set a farmhouse side table like this in a Fort Lauderdale living room with light walls and the distressing will feel right at home.
